After days of being frugal and eating at McDonald's (all hail the 2 for $4 deal!) I decided to treat myself to something a little more costly but also alot more in the quality department. I had never tried El Colima before but I know you can't go wrong with some beans and rice! Actually, I went in with the intentions of ordering a simple bean and cheese burrito but got a little greedier once I saw the menu. I settled on the Flautas meal; which comes with 3 Flautas (which they cut in half, so it looks like you get 6!) rice, beans and a side of salad. It is priced at about $17.99 but comes out to around $20 with tax. The food was actually REALLY good---especially the Flautas! They were very crispy and chewy; not too hard or dry. Plus, they add cheese in them as well, which was something I was not expecting! I have to admit: they were even better than the ones from Casa Jimenez, which are usually very hard to bite into and have tough meat! The rice was rice and the beans were beans. You can't really mess up those dishes in my opinion. Actually, the beans were a little salty, but I'm not a salt person and so, just a minor nitpick---I still ate them! The only real criticisms I have are that 1) the portion of the rice and beans were very small (If I'm paying $20, you better overload that box with rice and beans!) and 2) If paying with your debit card, it may be somewhat confusing, as they use a weird system and you are taxed yet another $3 to use it. I actually want to take my girlfriend here, so the easy fix then is to just pay cash next time! Also, the hostess was very nice and explained the menu very well. Someone give her a raise! While I didn't dine in the restaurant, I can say that, while small, it is very clean and organized; with interesting and beautiful murals throughout. They have bathrooms inside and sticker machines as well. All in all, El Colima proved to be worth the extra buck to have a good, quality meal! I would like to come back, at least once a month.

Really good food!! I crave their rice & beans and shredded beef tacos mm mm mm and they are not stingy with the cheese so very delicious. Also when you eat there they plate the food so beautifully love this place and wish I found it sooner

We were looking for a place to eat since our son was at practice.. so glad we came upon r this place. My husband ordered the Chile Riano plates and I ordered the taquito plate. All had such great flavor . Plus you get free chips and salsa when you done in. All the salad were great as well. You can tell it's very authentic and homemade. The ladies are the sweetest . This place is a must try. We will be back for sure
